Christopher Edwin has over two decades of experience as a dispute resolution counsel, primarily in the domains of Constitution, Company, Contract, Employment, Insolvency & Bankruptcy, Property, Succession, Testamentary, Family, and Intellectual Property laws.

He conducts matters on the Original, Appellate and Writ jurisdictions and has extensive experience in domestic and international commercial arbitration including enforcement of foreign Awards.

Christopher has serviced a wide range of clientele including government companies, public sector undertakings, foreign corporations, large corporates, private companies \charitable organisations and start-ups. He has strategized, advised and represented clientele in the infrastructure, power and real estate sector, including tender related disputes.

Christopher regularly appears before various High Courts, Commercial Courts, District Courts, Arbitral Tribunals, National Company Law Tribunals (NCLT) and National Company Law Appellate Tribunals (NCLAT), across India.

• Succeeded in obtaining directions for a tender to be awarded to the second highest bidder, in respect of transfer of over 400 acres of land, in favour of a large infrastructure development corporation, before the Supreme Court of India, as an instructing counsel.
• Appeared for a large power infrastructure corporation, before the Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka, leading to settling the law on the ambiguity as to whether TDS would be applicable on compensation paid for acquisition of agricultural land.
• Appeared for several large power corporations, against obstructions from private parties, for construction of Power Transmission High Tension Lines, over the lands of private Individuals for over 100’s of Kilometers.
• Represented a large group of homebuyers before the National Company Law Tribunal (NCLT), Bangalore and was successful in commencing corporate insolvency resolution process, of the holding company, though the project was undertaken by one of its subsidiaries.
• Represented a foreign company before the District court, Hon’ble High Court of Karnataka and Supreme Court of India, with regard to the enforcement of a foreign arbitral award, in relation to a technology transfer dispute.
• Conducted institutional arbitration proceedings for a Startup against a Global Software Company and succeeded in establishing that the software was developed by the Startup and the Trade Mark belonged to the Startup.
• Conducted ad-hoc arbitration before a Tribunal, presided by a former Supreme Court Judge and succeeded in establishing latent defects in the piling technology of an infrastructure giant and consequently proved breach of contract, resulting in entitlement for damages to the Claimant (An infrastructure development corporation.
• Represented a dot.com company in an international commercial arbitration presided by a former Supreme Court Judge and obtained an Arbitral Awards for payment of money.
• Represented a Mauritius based investment company, holding substantial sharers in an Indian Company, before the then, Appellate Authority for Industrial Finance and Reconstruction (AAIFR), the Delhi High Court and the Supreme Court, to prevent the sale of a large tract of land owned by the Indian Company, which was sought be sold at a distressed price through the BIFR.
• Conducted Public Interest Litigation before the High Court of Karnataka, on matters pertaining to noise pollution by heavy traffic vehicles in hospital zones. Restraining constructions in parks. Usurping land for extension of roads in parts of Karnataka under the guise of removing encroachment.
