Overview

The Aviation Practice Group of the Firm has as its clientele, leading aircraft manufacturers, prominent international and domestic passenger and cargo airlines, NSOs, MROs, aviation fuel suppliers, entrepreneurs, financial institutions, industry associations and regulatory bodies.

The Firm has advised aircraft manufacturers, operators (scheduled and NSOs) and financial institutions in transactions relating to acquisition of aircrafts (by way of purchase and lease), aircraft components & engines. The assistance involved structuring of the transactions, negotiation and preparation of documentation for aircraft leasing and financing, security creation, etc. The Firm also advises airline companies in India on Taxation (direct and indirect), importation of aircraft, compliance and operational issues and exchange control regulations.

The Firm assists clients with respect to registration, deregistration and re-possession of aircrafts from Indian operators (in the context of Cape Town Convention), including handling litigation and various regulatory issues before courts and regulatory authorities.

The Firm handles, on behalf of several international airlines and industry associations, high-stakes disputes pertaining to employment, commercial contracts, cargo and ground handling, agency contracts, claims by passengers etc.
