This was the largest investment made by a single investor in an e-commerce company in India. The Firm also advised Softbank on acquisition of shares of Snapdeal from the investors Nexus Venture Partners and Kalaari Capital. The Firm represented Softbank in structuring of the transaction, advising on investment rights, regulatory framework, and its compliance, analysing the business model, transaction documentation and the closing. The aggregate deal value of the investment by Softbank in Snapdeal was about US $ 700 million.
The said transaction was the Winner of the Deal of the Year Award by Indian Law Business Journal (IBLJ).
