Profile

Siddharth is a Principal Associate in the Bangalore office of the firm. He actively manages and advises on labour and employment affairs for various national and multinational clients, which include many notable Fortune 500 employers.

Siddharth’s responsibilities span day-to-day employment law advisory encompassing, amongst other aspects, statutory workplace related entitlements, benefit schemes and internal investigations.

Siddharth has extensive experience in managing complex workforce transitions and frequently advises on nuanced transfer of employment aspects, while underscoring essential do’s and don’t’s for employers when navigating employee transition exercises in India.

Siddharth also has extensive experience in assisting various establishments in developing robust on-boarding practices and implementing effective employment procedures in India, including but not limited to equal opportunity policies and prevention of sexual harassment policies at the workplace.

1. Advised one of the largest health insurance providers on a “re-badging” exercise, which involved the transition of approximately 1500 employees in India;
2. Advised a multinational ed-tech company on permanent establishment risks and developed various structures for c-suite engagements in India;
3. Assisted a multinational financial services company regarding a grievance alleging discrimination on the grounds of caste discrimination;
4. Advised one of the world’s largest gaming companies on employment-related obligations arising from the transfer of employees, further to a merger concerning its operations in India;
5. Advised a multinational pharmaceutical giant regarding the termination of its head of India operations;
6. Advised an American based industrial conglomerate (with key operations in defense) on contract working engagements in India;
7. Provided end-to-end support to an American based financing and advisory company in the closure of its business operations in India, effectively resulting in the termination of its entire workforce; and
8. Assisted one of the largest global accounting and advisory firms on employment laws and practices in India covering a range of labour and employment issues – also undertook a detailed assessment of the employment related terms and conditions (including working hours, overtime, privileged leave, leave encashment, rest intervals, national and festival holidays, etc) for different locations where the organisation has a presence in India.
