Arun is a Partner with the Bangalore office of Kochhar & Co. Arun is dual qualified and holds a bachelor’s degree in Electronics and telecommunication engineering along with his LLB. Arun is also a Certified Ethical Hacker and is a registered Patent Agent with the Indian Patent office.

Arun is regularly involved in reviewing new products and technology solutions of customers and advising on regulatory aspects governing such products and solutions. Arun is an expert on Indian data privacy laws and cyber security regulations, and advises clients on cyber security issues, assists on data breach situations and has also been part of teams assisting clients on data theft matters. He also does substantial telecom regulatory work and is involved in advising offshore operations on their use of voice over IP, cloud PBX providers and video conferencing providers on services to India, and various telecom companies on telecom licensing and product certification requirements under Indian law. Arun has also been involved in advising some of the world’s largest pharmaceutical companies and medical device manufacturers on Indian drug regulatory laws. Arun has wide experience in drafting and prosecuting patent applications in India. Arun also has experience in advising on e-commerce laws, fintech laws, outsourcing regulations, and foreign trade laws.

Prior to joining Kochhar & Co., Arun has worked as an in-house counsel with various leading multi-national corporations.

• Patent Prosecution at the Indian Patent Office on behalf of some of the world’s biggest patent law firms.
• Advice on import and sale of telecom equipment for various MNCs.
• Advice on law governing provision of cloud services to government agencies for one of the world’s biggest Cloud Service Providers.
