Santosh is a member of the Firm’s Dispute Resolution practice and has advised clients on civil litigation, consumer protection, criminal complaints, banking claims, company related suits, domestic and international arbitration, injunction laws, writs, tenancy laws, real estate laws, family laws, employment laws, labour laws, accident claims, intellectual property laws, company petition for approval of scheme for amalgamation of companies etc.

Santosh has represented various corporate clients (including banks, financial institutions, insurance companies) and individuals before the Bombay High Court, City Civil Court, Sessions Court, Small Causes Court, Co-Operative Courts, Debt Recovery Tribunals, NCLT, Consumer Forums, Metropolitan Magistrate Court in Mumbai and other states.

Santosh has also extensively drafted and negotiated corporate, commercial and real estate agreements as well as employment contracts.

• Represented before the Hon’ble Bombay High Court in the merger of an Indian MNC including drafting and filing of an application of amalgamation whereby the businesses and undertaking of two large Indian companies was merged.
• Represented a foreign MNC in negotiating the settlement terms with India’s leading e-commerce market-place and drafting of the compromise deed which was executed between the parties.
• Represented an Indian MNC and its directors in defending a company petition filed for oppression and mismanagement under the Companies Act, 1956 in Company Law Board.
• Represented an Indian MNC in filing a summary suit in Dindoshi Court, Bombay against a premier service provider catering to the upstream segment of the oil and gas industry. A conditional order was passed directing the gas company to deposit INR 2.5 million to defend the case.
• Represented a famous foreign film Producer and Director in filing of suit for recovery of high value claims against and Indian production house. The foreign Film Producer and Director had received USD 400,000 from three of the Defendants under the consent terms.
• Represented an Indian multinational company against a leading Indian bank in a suit for declaration and injunction seeking a declaration that the letter of credit (LC) issued by the bank is valid and subsisting and that the client is entitled to extend/renew the LC and receive payment of the entire amount payable under the LC including restraining bank to alienate the balance cash margin money lying in deposit with bank. The matter was settled outside Court.
• Represented a leading aviation company against its promoters, seeking a decree of Permanent Injunction for restraining the promoters from contacting the employees and clients of the aviation company. The matter was settled outside Court.
• Represented an Indian MNC in a suit for specific performance seeking execution of second Leave and License Agreement for a specified period in furtherance to existing Leave and License Agreement.
• Represented an Indian MNC in a suit for a recovery of an amount of INR 6 million, against the defendants. The defendants had defaulted in making timely payments to the client. Decree was passed in favour of the client.
• Represented a foreign MNC in filing a suit for recovery against a major pharmaceutical company in Calicut, India and defending a cross suit for damages filed by the pharmaceutical company against the foreign company in Calicut District Court. The suit was decreed in favour of the client and the matter was settled and the client has received INR 28 million from the defendants.
