Akshat has advised clients ranging from startups to multinational corporations, as a private practitioner and in-house counsel operating in sectors such as e-commerce, travel & hospitality, healthcare & pharmaceuticals, ed-tech and data analytics, logistics, EPC and real estate, retail & wholesale, oil & gas, and electric mobility.

His experience includes advising clients on mergers and acquisitions, private equity and venture capital transactions, intellectual property management, regulatory compliance, and general corporate advisory. Akshat has been involved in several high-stake transactions, helping companies navigate the complexities of deal-making, from due diligence to negotiation and execution of transactional documents.

Akshat’s advisory work includes offering strategic insights on regulatory frameworks governing telemedicine, AI-driven diagnostic products, and the expansion of ed-tech companies into offline and franchise models. He has also advised clients on real estate transactions, including large-scale lease agreements and property due diligence, as well as on supply chain and logistics contracts. Select Experience Statement

  • Led the transactions for the merger of two of the leading online travel and hospitality companies along with the entire diligence process and transactional documentation. The transaction was valued at approximately USD 2 billion.
  • Represented the founders and key management personnel of a unicorn in the purchase of securities from an exiting investor, involving a total stake sale valued at approximately USD 75 million by such an investor. Responsibilities included negotiating, reviewing, and finalizing the transaction documents, as well as managing both closing and post-closing formalities.
  • Led and closed a transaction for an edtech client for acquisition through a structured swap of a leading test preparation platform. The transaction was valued at USD 40 million. Work included undertaking legal due diligence, reviewing, negotiating, and finalising the transaction documents such as the shareholders' agreement, share purchase agreement, share subscription agreement, and delegation of authority.
  • Represented an edtech company in raising debt of approx. USD 4 million, through a combination of debt and equity instruments. The transaction included closing documents such as the securities subscription agreement, deed of hypothecation, debenture trustee deed, and debenture trustee appointment agreement.
  • Represented an edtech company in raising debt of approx. USD 2.50 million. The transaction included closing documents such as the securities subscription agreement, deed of hypothecation, debenture trustee deed, and debenture trustee appointment agreement.
  • Assisted in negotiating, documenting, and executing major real estate transactions worth approximately USD 2 million for setting up wholesale stores for the Indian subsidiary of a Thai MNC. The responsibilities included undertaking property diligence, documentation, lease deed drafting, negotiation and finalization, and civil works and construction-related contracts.
  • Assisted in multiple joint venture transactions for India’s biggest conglomerate to bring different retail brands as single-brand retailers to the Indian market.
