Sameena is a Partner in the Firm’s Mumbai office. She is a Corporate and Tax lawyer with more than eleven (11) years of post-qualification experience. Sameena is also a qualified company secretary.
Her practice areas include corporate law, company laws, foreign investments, transaction advisory, secretarial compliance, direct taxation and regulatory affairs. She has also extensively advised corporate clients on employment law issues including on national and state employment laws. She has extensively advised clients on sexual harassment at workplace laws, formation of internal complaints committee, handling of sexual harassment at workplace complaints, etc.
Sameena has significant experience and expertise in drafting various types of agreements, advising on foreign exchange laws, RBI policies and structuring deals. She is proficient in drafting, vetting and negotiating commercial agreements and contacts, transactional documents in relation to private equity, mergers & acquisitions.
Over the last decade, Sameena has been involved in representing numerous multinational and foreign companies across sectors with respect to investments in India, establishment of wholly owned subsidiaries, branch and liaison offices, joint ventures & acquisitions in addition to assisting them with day to day corporate and regulatory compliances. Her work has included organizational structuring, due diligence and advice on regulatory approvals.
In the recent past, she has handled some of the marquee deals involving high-value restructuring and acquisition transactions for clients in Financial Services and Manufacturing.
Sameena is also actively involved in promoting legal education, she regularly mentors professionals through online and offline modes.
